"न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते" (Bhagavadgita 4.38) means Certainly, there is no purifier in this world like 'Knowledge'.
The Chandmal Tarachand Bora College Library was established in 1968. Right from its inception, it has become the “heart of the campus”. The library occupies a prominent and integral part in the teaching and learning process of the institution.
The growth and development of the library goes hand-in-hand with that of the increasing number of readers and their demands. Initially the library had a collection of 2000 books (in 1968), which has now increased to more than 80,000 books, 49 print journals and more than 6000+ e-journals. The library work is administered by Library Committee.
The library is spread across a total area of 10,500 sq.ft. The various sections of the library are: Circulation Counter, Office Area, Periodicals Sections, Under Graduate/ Junior College Stack Room, Post Graduate & Research Stack Room, UGC-Network Resource Centre, Reprographic Room, Book Exhibition Area, Teachers Reading Hall, PG/Research Reading Hall, Boys Reading Hall, Girls Reading Hall, UPS-Battery Room and Store Room.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES OF THE COLLEGE LIBRARY:
- The library aims to fulfill all kinds of educational, informational and recreational needs of the students, teachers, researchers and other users by providing them with a wide range of books, periodicals, reference books, famous literary works, rare books and audio-visual aids.
- The College library plays the role of a counselor to the students rather than a caretaker of the book collection and engaged in technical services of acquisition, classifying, cataloguing and lending books to the members.
